You say your product is free. Where does that put you?
We rate every tool in your category on one question: can someone use your product or service and keep what they made, without paying? We publish the answer as a green, yellow or red dot. Find out where you rank, and why.
We do not sell ratings. We do not sell placement. The advice on how to earn a green dot is free, to everyone, whether you pay us or not.
If you think we got your dot wrong, tell us and we'll look — for free, today, without you paying us a cent. That's the same door everyone uses.
What you actually get
A ranking. Not a dashboard, not a login, not a monthly PDF of charts. One document a person wrote, and a year of keeping it true.
It reads like this
"Free video editors, ranked by how free they really are. 14 tools. You're 9th."
"You're yellow, word watermark. A person can edit their video and can't take it away without paying. The three tools above you are green: two of them watermark nothing under two minutes, and the third exports at 720p free and charges for 4K. That is the whole difference between their dot and yours."

1
Your category, ranked.
Every tool we've judged that does what you do, in one list, against one published standard: can a person finish the job, and keep what they made?
-
2
Where you place, and exactly why.
Not a score out of ten. The specific thing a customer hits: the watermark on the export, the card asked for up front, the feature that only exists in the paid version.
-
3
What the tools above you do differently.
The concrete difference between their offer and yours. Often it is one line in a terms page and it costs almost nothing to change. Sometimes it is your whole business model, and we'll say that too.

4
A re-check whenever you change your offer, for a year.
Change something and tell us. We look again, and the public record — the dot everyone sees — is updated. That is what the year buys.

Plain answers
Will paying you make my dot go green?
No. Changing your offer makes your dot go green. Nothing else does, and the advice on how to do it is free whether you pay us or not — ask us and we'll tell you, today, for nothing. What $99 buys is the whole picture: the list, your place in it, and what the tools beating you are doing. Not the verdict itself. The verdict is not for sale, to you or to anyone, at any price.
Then why would I pay?
Because we will tell you, in writing, what your competitors' free offers actually are — measured the same way, by the same rule, on the same day. That is a week of somebody's work if you do it yourself, and you would be marking your own homework.
Can I pay you to take my yellow dot down?
No. It comes down when the reason for it comes down, and not before. The standard is public precisely so you can hold us to that.
What if you judged us wrong?
Then we fix it, for free, and the correction goes out to everyone. Send us the link, the dot we showed, and what you actually saw. You have never needed to pay us to argue with us, and you never will.
Do you judge yourselves by this?
Yes, and we lose. reallyfree.app is yellow, word limits — our own free use is capped, so under our own rule we are not green. A test in our build fails if we ever paint ourselves green.
Who else is paying you?
Members, at $9.95 a year, and businesses, at $99. Nobody buys a verdict, and nobody ever will — the day that changes, everything else on this site is worthless.
